Not slowing down with resident’s engagement…

Belinda and Patrick would like to thank everyone who helped and supported their election campaign, took the time to engage with them in discussion, and most of all voted for them. Never having stood for election before, we were overwhelmed to meet so many supporters of the Residents’ campaign, and particularly the ethos of ‘taking party politics out of local government’.

It was great to meet you all, however you voted.

We were really impressed by the level of engagement in the ward, and could fully appreciate the issues which you are facing.
People in all areas were concerned with speeding traffic, road safety and pot holes; affordable homes for local people; and the overwhelming issue of loss of school places in the Saffron Walden catchment due to the large number of new dwellings being built.

Residents of Littlebury, the Chesterfords, Chrishall, Duddenhoe End, Elmdon and Wendens Ambo all had real and serious concerns about their children having to travel many miles past the local schools to go to others near Dunmow and Stortford.

R4U is not slowing down its engagement with residents. In fact, we are ready to take on the issues which are pressing now, and also looking ahead to future elections.
Traffic, schools and planning are on our agenda.

We both look forward to meeting many of you in the near future.

Watch out for more updates on our forthcoming activities and engagements.
