Little Walden Road residents’ group calls for support at Wednesday’s district Planning Meeting about 85-home Gladman development

This Wednesday 10th May the Uttlesford District Council Planning Committee will review developer Gladman’s application for 85 homes on farmland outside the Saffron Walden town boundary on the Little Walden Road.

Gladman’s planning application for 85 homes on the site was refused last year, so they appealed the decision and also submitted a second application to run in parallel to the appeal. This time UDC Officers are recommending approval of the new and virtually identical application. The development is opposed by the Little Walden Road residents’ group and by the Saffron Walden Town Council.

The Little Walden Road residents’ group have said they are attending and speaking at the planning committee meeting and have asked that any residents with questions or concerns also attend the meeting. It is at 2:00pm at the UDC offices on London Road in Saffron Walden.

The planning application details (UTT/17/0522/OP) can be found on  the UDC website.

Note: It has been recommended that Residents for Uttlesford not provide an opinion about this application before the meeting as to do so could cause R4U councillors to be barred from the Planning Committee meeting. However we suggest that those that are interested in the application attend the meeting.
