Aisha Anjum is an experienced lawyer who has worked tirelessly to forge her legal career. She is no stranger to campaigning and elections, having served as Vice President of the Postgraduate Law Society at the prestigious University College London, and as an elected Executive Member of the Law Society at the University of Sheffield.
Her past experience of working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in delivering legal services and advising on human rights and advancing education means that she is uniquely qualified to work in high pressured environments whilst focussing on the very real human needs of those in her care
Closer to home Aisha Anjum has worked for local solicitors Heckford Norton and currently works part-time as an Adjudicator at the Financial Ombudsman Service in London where she advises on complex and high valued disputes involving global financial services companies.
She has gained strong insight into local campaigning issues through her father-in-law, local Conservative Councillor and former Saffron Walden Mayor Sarfraz Anjum, and hopes to continue on this path. Aisha’s family have lived and run businesses in Shire Hill ward for more than 30 years. She was elected to represent the Saffron Walden Shire Ward for both District and Town Councils in 2015.
