This press release is a very professional piece of spin, well written and clear. Trouble is that like all spin it does not hold up well to robust scrutiny. To give just two examples - I dont recall any of RfU or WaR's communications mentioning the possibility of a rejected local plan leading to more houses. I also find it very hard to accept that RfU, having vigorously opposed all aspects of the plan and perhaps more importantly the process, does not bear some responsibility for the unfortunate side effects we will now see. There will be increased numbers of speculative proposals by developers and sadly, contrary to what some have asserted, a 5 year land supply and the prior planning framework is not a universal panacea to those proposals.

Very well done to all the team who have attended the consultation.
We now need to get the findings across to the wider residents.
This is not the end, but it is the beginning, brilliant news!
