R4U has announced that it in collaboration with Saffron Walden Town Council residents are being consulting on locations to implement new kerb drops in Saffron Walden after securing funds from Essex County Council.
R4U’s Cllr Paul Gadd said:
“Last year we consulted with residents to ask them how they’d like access in the town improved. One of the suggestions was more dropped kerbs to improve road crossing for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We’re happy to say that we’ve secured the first money from Essex County Council which will allow 10 dropped kerbs to be created.”
“We’re now asking residents to help us prioritise locations. We’ve had good responses on the R4U Facebook page and schemes for the High St, Hill St, Market Hill, Church St, East St, London Rd and Audley End village have been suggested. We are asking for residents to vote for the ones they would like to see or suggest their own at www.Residents4U.org/kerb or send their suggestions to the Town Council. Following that we’ll submit them to Essex County Council.”
Residents are requested to submit their comments and suggestions by Friday May 20th.
