You have enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something.

Readers may have noticed a number of recent letters in the local papers commenting on my time as County Councillor for Saffron Walden. On thinking about these and I came across a quotation from Winston Churchill:-

“You have enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something, sometime in your life”.

During my time at ECC I have stood up for my fellow Uttlesford residents to push for the appropriate infrastructure needed for the new homes which we have to build, and for many other things. We have been making a difference that people have noticed.

I am proud that in the Elsenham & Henham by-election 60% of residents voted for R4U candidates.  It was not just a win, it was a strong endorsement of the things we stand for and do. We are delighted that so much of the electorate put their faith in us. We look forward to continuing to serve all of the residents of Uttlesford as we hope for further success in this week’s elections, and then as we focus on our goal of gaining control of UDC in two years’ time.

Yours faithfully,

John Lodge
R4U Councillor Uttlesford District & Essex County Councils
