Join the Protest Against Library cuts in Saffron Walden and other Uttlesford Libraries by ECC

Join the positive protest against library cuts in Saffron Walden and other Uttlesford libraries by ECC at 10AM on Saturday 2nd February at Saffron Walden Library.

At a recent Saffron Walden Town Council meeting, Essex County Councillor John Moran announced that the Saffron Walden Library services and hours would be reduced, even before the current ECC library consultation has concluded.

ECC also want to close Stansted and Thaxted libraries completely. The residents of Saffron Walden are wholly committed to our Library as the heart of our town and call on ECC to invest rather than divest in this important service.  Our recent Freedom-of-Information request showed that we already get 2% less back from ECC for our libraries than other districts in Essex. Saffron Walden residents stand together, across party lines, calling for reconsideration of these reductions across Uttlesford. Come and join the positive protest. All welcome, come sun or snow!

This non-party political event is organised by Residents For Uttlesford and supported by the Saffron Walden Lib Dems and Save Our Libraries Essex – SOLE.
