Residents for Uttlesford District Councillor and Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) Candidate Chloë Fiddy said “I’m proud to call Saffron Walden home. As your councillor, I would use my experience in business, government, and volunteering to focus on practical ways to make our town work for everyone. When the land at Well Green Close was put up for Auction, I stepped in and prevented it being sold for development. SWTC was able to purchase the land for £1, to retain it as a green space.”

Saffron Walden Town and District Councillor, and former Mayor, Arthur Coote (R4U), said “Local Government Reorganisation means that residents will soon have fewer local councillors, and many vital services will no longer be run locally. That’s why Saffron Walden Town Council is becoming more important than ever — it’s the one council that exists purely to stand up for our town, our residents, and our businesses.
To make sure Saffron Walden’s voice is strong and effective, we need councillors who are experienced, capable, and deeply rooted in our community. Chloë is exactly that. She brings dedication, integrity, and real expertise to everything she does. I’m absolutely delighted that she’s standing in this by-election — and I urge everyone who cares about Saffron Walden’s future to give her their vote.”
